Sebastian Gramss

The Cologne-based double bassist and composer Sebastian Gramss is one of the leading figures in the German music scene in jazz and contemporary music.

His works were honoured with the ECHO Prize in 2013 and 2018, and in 2022, he received the prestigious German Jazz Prize twice. Tours and concerts take him to Africa, Australia, Asia, Russia, the USA, India, Japan, and Mexico, as well as to major festivals and clubs throughout Europe.

In addition to his numerous bands and projects, Gramss initiated dozens of international collaborations, and has amassed over thirty releases under his own name.

Among others he has composed for choreographer Pina Bausch, and recently with and for the Ensemble Modern.
