A prolific multi-instrumentalist, producer, and composer, LA-based artist claire rousay gracefully crafts boundary-less music and brings a singular reflexivity, unflinching honesty and adroit humour to the performance space. At this show she will perform work from acclaimed recent album ‘a little death’ with a bespoke ensemble of Bristol players. Cellist and composer Lucy Railton’s ‘Blue Veil’ invites listeners into the realm of precision-tuned states of resonance: made manifest through Railton’s careful traversal of her instrument’s most subtle acoustic characteristics, opening a space for immediate encounters of mind and sound. ‘Drift’ is a collaboration between Scottish composer and bagpiper Harry Górski-Brown and Polish audiovisual artist and instrument designer Wojciech Rusin, born of a shared interest in speculative relationships between traditional and contemporary drone musics. For this first UK performance of the work, they’ll be joined by London-based ensemble Phaedra Ensemble.
