Cara Tolmie + Rian Treanor

Cara Tolmie is a Glasgow-born, Stockholm-based vocalist and performance artist who explores the bonds and limits between voice and body through a vocal technique she describes as Internal Singing. Working between club culture and experimental sound design, Rian Treanor creates playful and rigorous work. In their collaboration his richly innovative rave-infused structures bend and contort around Tolmie’s incantations, resulting in a dissociative dance music that reassembles contorting vocal lines and knotting biomechanics into a network of unstable forms, “hitting a sweet spot where skill and hedonism come together.” The Wire
